Originally from Southside Chicago, Barbara Fernandez de Bautista started her career working as a secretary and translator for various attorneys during the first amnesty.
In 1998, Fernandez de Bautista and her family moved to Georgia where she began her work with law enforcement in various agencies, including police departments in Chamblee, Morrow, Conyers, Riverdale, and Rockdale County 911.
Like the hardworking Latina that she is, she provided for her family working simultaneously another full-time job at Dekalb County State Court Clerk’s office, Dekalb County Solicitor General’s Office, and Clayton County District Attorney’s Office where all translations relied on her, aside from her regular duties.
During her ten years at Clayton County District Attorney’s Office, Fernandez de Bautista worked her way up to Supervisor of the Victim Witness Assistance Division and achieved her Georgia P.O.S.T Instructor Certification.
When not working, Fernandez de Bautista enjoys spending time with her family, especially her grandson.
Her work at Diaz & Gaeta brings joy to her life because she witnesses how the impossible becomes possible for the clients. Fernandez de Bautista looks forward to seeing D&G continue to grow as a premier law firm.
